The Minister of Defence, Mansur Dan-Ali in Riyadh reiterated the commitment of the Buhari Presidency to the global coalition against terrorism, the minister’s media aide, Col. Tukur Gusau, said in a statement.

The Minister restated Nigeria’s position in Riyadh at a meeting of the Islamic Coalition Against Terrorism with President Donald Trump of the United States of America.

Gusau said Dan-Ali remarked that Nigeria remained a strong force in the coalition against global terrorism and would do everything necessary to curb it.

Islamic Military Counter Terrorism Coalition was initiated by the Saudi king Salman ibn Saud to help end the reign of terror especially attacks by ISIS in the middle-east and beyond.

Saudi Arabia announced in December 2015 what it called a new Islamic military alliance made up of 34 countries to fight terrorism.

A government statement announcing the initiative said an operations center would be established in Riyadh to coordinate military operations.

The statement said terrorism is a “serious violation of human dignity and rights, especially the right to life and the right to security,” and that “acts of corruption and terrorism cannot be justified in any way.”

Saudi Deputy Crown Prince and Defense Minister Mohammed bin Salman said the focus would not be on any one terror group.
