Chelsea one game away from Premier League title after relegating Middlesbrough in 3-0 win

Premier League leaders, Chelsea eased to a 3-0 win at home to Middlesbrough in London on Monday.

Boro goalkeeper, Brad Guzan had pushed a Marcos Alonso effort onto the crossbar after only two minutes.

Chelsea were in dominant form and inevitably got the opening goal through top scorer, Diego Costa in the 23rd minute.

Alonso then added the second 10 minutes later to give the Blues a 2-0 lead by the end of the first half.

Nemanja Matic sealed the tie with the third, and his first ever goal at Stamford Bridge, after 65 minutes.

The win sends Chelsea seven points clear atop the Premier League with three games left to play.

Boro on their part remain 19th with 28 points; seven points off safety with two games left to play. They have been relegated as a result.

Antonio Conte‘s men can seal the title with two games to spare though with a win at West Brom on Friday, May 12.
