World champion, Mark Selby claimed three accolades at the annual snooker awards which held in London.

Selby was named snooker’s Player of the Year at the sport’s annual awards ceremony.

A Leicester native, Selby enjoyed a historic 2016/17 season, winning a record equaling five ranking events: the Paul Hunter Classic, International Championship, UK Championship, China Open and World Championship.

He won three accolades to cap a memorable season

The 33-year-old, who won his third world title earlier this week, smashed the record for the most prize money earned in one season, banking £932,000, and extended his vast lead at the top of the world rankings.

Three days after he beat John Higgins in the Crucible final to land a third career World Championship and fifth ranking title in 2016/17, Selby was named Player of the Year, journalists’ Player of the Year and fans’ Player of the Year at the World Snooker Awards.
