Security agencies avert bloodshed in Plateau PDP secretariat

A combined team of security agencies in Jos on Friday averted bloodshed at the secretariat of the Peoples Democratic Party in Plateau State when the faction of Senator Alli Modu Sheriff tried to take possession.

It was learnt that plans by the Gyang Badung faction of the PDP loyal to Sheriff to forcefully take over the party’s secretariat was leaked to the faction led by a former Minister of Sports, Damishi Sango, who was said to have been elected through a congress.

Sango arrived the PDP secretariat with his supporters and vowed that the Makarfi faction to which he belongs was in charge in Plateau state.

The Police, officials of the Department of State Services and Nigerian Security and Civil Defence Corps immediately took over the secretariat and frisked people coming and going out of the secretariat.
